About Us Home Team was founded in 1993 by “Coach” John Matte, a 37-year veteran of the real estate industry. Coach Matte founded Home Team on a simple principle: in order to build a successful real estate firm, you must attract good agents, take great care of those agents, and, above all, make sure that each client receives an impeccable level of service in completing their real estate transaction. Using this formula, Home Team has grown to over 600 independent real estate agents, and we close over 4,250 real estate transactions per year. Although we provide training and support to our real estate agents, we generally only recruit and hire agents who have significant experience in the real estate industry prior to joining our family. In addition to representing buyers and sellers of residential properties, many of our agents are experienced in the sale of commercial real estate, undeveloped land and rural and ranch properties. J. PAUL CAVER Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and General Counsel Paul oversees all contractual and other legal issues involving Home Team and its agents, as well as leading our acquisition team in our discussions with other brokers and groups of agents who desire to become a part of Home Team. Prior to joining Home Team, Paul managed his own law practice, focusing on real estate and corporate/securities law, practiced law with two national law firms, and practiced accounting with a Big Five accounting firm and with a Fortune 500 public corporation. Paul is a licensed attorney, CPA, real estate broker, mortgage broker, and title escrow officer. He graduated cum laude and Order of the Coif (top 10%) from the Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law, where he served on the law review and was awarded a Hatton W. Sumners Scholarship. HARRIS LAMKIN Vice President – Business Development Harris is responsible for all aspects of business development for Home Team, as well as establishing affiliated business arrangements and other relationships within the real estate industry. Prior to joining Home Team, Harris was Chief Operating Officer for a real estate investment group, and project manager for a company in the oil and gas pipeline industry. Harris also served in the United States Army for three years, from 1989-92, and received several commendation awards. Harris has a Bachelor’s degree from The University of Houston in Hotel Restaurant Management. He holds a Texas real estate broker's license and a Texas mortgage loan officer's license. ROBERT PRITCHETT General Manager - Houston Robert has been with our Memorial office for two years, and he is responsible for all facets of Home Team's real estate brokerage operations in Houston. Robert fields questions from our agents, supervises our office personnel, and heads up our recruiting in Houston. After attending Wharton Jr. College working on a business degree, Robert began a restaurant career with Boston Market as an Assistant Manager. After managing several locations, at the young age of 20 years old Robert was promoted to General Manager at the River Oaks location. Soon after Boston Market was bought by McDonald's, Robert was recruited by a regional manager from Red Lobster. After successfully running the "Best Customer Service" Red Lobster restaurant for three years, Robert began his real estate career with Century 21, where he was citywide runner-up for Rookie of the Year, grossing more than two million in sales. He enjoys his management position with Home Team and he genuinely loves helping our agents succeed.
